Catan: Explorers & Pirates includes 5 novel scenarios, each of which builds upon your previous experience. All are easy to learn, rich in character, and lots of fun. In each, you explore an unknown sea by ship and build settlements on the discovered islands.

Scenario 1 (“Land Ho!”) introduces you to valuable harbor settlements, shipbuilding, exploration, and overseas settlement—the most important basic rules of this expansion. Each subsequent scenario introduces a new mission and its simple new rules. The game culminates in Scenario 5 (“Explorers & Pirates”), which incorporates all of these very rich new themes in a diverse and exciting campaign of bold exploration and piracy!

THIS IS AN EXPANSION TO THE CATAN BOARD GAME: This is NOT a complete game! You will need a CATAN base game in order to play with this expansion. EXPLORE, HARVEST AND DELIVER: This expansion is entirely dedicated to exploration. Sent out by the Council of Catan, players set out for uncharted areas to build new outposts. The sketchy information available indicates that dangerous pirate lairs, rich fishing grounds, and helpful indigenous villages await you beyond the horizon. STRATEGY BOARD GAME: Build harbor settlements, ships, settlers and sailing crews and set out across mysterious seas in search of new lands, spices, fish and gold fields. This expansion includes 5 new scenarios, each of which builds upon your previous experience. FUN FAMILY GAMES FOR GAME NIGHT: An international favorite, CATAN has been called the "Perfect Social Game". Check out our entire collection of CATAN board games for adults and kids to enjoy on family game night. Enjoy hours of fast-paced, interactive fun! NUMBER OF PLAYERS AND AVERAGE PLAYTIME: This fun family game is designed for 3 to 4 players and is suitable for ages 12 and older. Average playtime is approximately 90 minutes.

STANDARD SERVICE: All items ship from our Southampton, NY location within 1-2 business days. Orders with Standard service will be shipped via USPS First Class, USPS Priority Mail, UPS Ground, UPS Surepost, or FedEx Home Delivery.

EXPEDITED SERVICE:  Please call us for a quote if you wish to have your items shipped using an expedited shipping service such as UPS Two Day or Next Day..

Estimated Delivery Times

We will provide an ESTIMATED delivery timeframe at checkout based on the items in your order and your location. Some orders may arrive in multiple shipments.

Items Lost or Damaged in Transit

Please contact us by email or calling in the event your shipment is lost or damaged.  In the event of visible damage, please keep all packaging material.  Stevenson’s will provide tracking numbers for all shipments and is not responsible for items not received that the tracking shows as having been delivered.

We offer pick-up at both our Southampton store and our East Hampton store. Please indicate at checkout where you would like to pick up your item(s) or call us at 631-283-2111.

They saved my son’s fifth birthday by going above and beyond to help me out after I had unbelievably bad luck finding the Playmobil house that he wanted and is near impossible to find.
